This is a welcome web-site for us in the minorities in the Nigeria.However,some of these names aren’t Efik names, but Ibibio names….these are two different ethnic groups,though brother tribes but two different groups all the same. consulting Elders in each regions who would help give suggested names depicting each of these sister tribes would help in drawing a line,it is essential.Kudos all the same

Richard is correct. Most of the names above with respect to the tribe that bear them are Ibibio names. However they have meaning in Efik language. When you are thinking of Efik names you should be thinking of names like: Ako, Asuquoanwan, Ama, Minika,Uyi, Ekanem, Edemanwan, Edisua, Edak, etc. These have their various meanings. Cheers!
